Location:                           Infrastructure Services, Road and Bridges

Supervisor:                       Engineering Technologist

Hours of Work:                 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (35 hours per week)

Rate of Pay:                      $19.18 per hour (under review)

Duration:                           April 28, 2025 to August 29, 2025

Closing Date:                   January 31, 2025

 

The County of Lennox and Addington is seeking applications for Technical Assistants starting May 1, 2025, for approximately 19 weeks. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Administer a traffic counting program including data collection, processing and analysis

• Assist with field supervision, inspection and contract administration of maintenance contracts

• Infrastructure data collection

• Provide engineering assistance to the Roads and Bridges Department staff

• Satisfactory attendance record, subject to the requirements of the Ontario Human Rights Code

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in a program of study in civil engineering or similar field of study at either a university or community college

• Strong organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with AutoCad

• Provide a clear criminal record information check

• Possess a valid driver’s licence and able to provide a clean driver’s abstract

 

The County will supply all necessary equipment including use of a County vehicle for field work.  At times it may be necessary for the Technical Assistant to provide a personal vehicle as required.  This vehicle should be appropriately insured for use on County business.  Reimbursement for personal vehicle use will be provided.
