The YMCA – Northumberland, this position servicing – primarily based out of Cobourg Branch with some potential training in Brighton and Campbellford, is seeking a Full Time – Team Lead, Personal Conditioning and YThrive Trainer.

Team Lead – Personal Conditioning and YThrive Training
Salary Range: $41,600-$47,840 plus benefits
Full-time – 40-hour work week
Reports to: Coordinator Fitness and Adult Programs
Position Summary:
The Team Lead, Personal Conditioning and YThrive Training reports to the Coordinator Fitness and Adult Programs and works collaboratively with all YMCA staff and volunteers. The core functions of this position are to provide exceptional experience to all members within the Personal Conditioning Centre, maintain a high enrollment of personal training clients among personal trainers as well as YThrive clients and provide a variety of health and wellness workshops throughout the year. The Team Lead will actively seek and act upon opportunities to recruit and retain members and improve their overall YMCA experience and wellness.
Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement strategies that achieve and sustain member service excellence related to health and wellness
– Role model service standards and provide leadership through direct service delivery in the Personal Conditioning Centre, primarily in the Cobourg Health Fitness & Aquatic Branch, with a focus on member retention, new member engagement and Personal Training
– Responsible for scheduling the Personal Conditioning and Personal Training Staff and approving ADP hours accordingly in coordination with the Coordinator Fitness and Adult Programs.
– Work collaboratively with the Coordinator of Fitness and Adult Programs to ensure YMCA service 2.1 (and Y Way) standards are being met or exceeded
– Deliver workshops and revenue generating programming specific to the service area once discussed and approved by the Centre Manager, Health, Fitness and Aquatics
– Build meaningful relationships through positive daily interaction with YMCA members, visitors, colleagues and community partners
– Recruit, onboard and mentor all Personal Training and Conditioning staff and volunteer team members for the purpose of delivering excellence in member service through Health and Wellness programs and services
– Maintain 80% front line delivery in the PCC, delivering Personal Training, YThrive, lead/cover group fitness classes and Health and Wellness Workshops
– Ensure the safety of all members including youth accessing the PCC by following YMCA standards/policies/procedures
– Ensure the safety of all equipment and collaborate with the HFA & Asset Team in identifying and addressing potential risks
– Provide ongoing training to current and new staff/volunteers in procedures and practices related to the Personal Conditioning Centre, YThrive and Personal Training
– Responsible for providing statistics/reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) associated with the Conditioning Centre, trainings and workshops
– Provide input and feedback to the approved budget related to revenues and expenses to meet financial targets
– Attend staff meetings, planning sessions and training events as required
Work Environment:
– Primarily based out of Cobourg Branch with some potential training in Brighton and Campbellford
– The regular workday is 8.5 hours with an unpaid half hour for lunch; flexible workday shifts; opening and closing shifts. Shifts will include weekends and evenings.

Qualifications:
– 2 years post-secondary education in Physical and Health Education or a related field
– 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role
– Previous experience supervising staff, including recruitment, training and performance management
– YMCA Group Fitness, Personal Training and YThrive Leadership Certifications with the ability to teach aquafit/step/cycle/core and other group classes
– Excellent organizational and time management skills
– First Aid and CPR Certification
– Previous YMCA experience and knowledge of YMCA SAM 2.1 standards an asset
– Computer skills using Microsoft Windows applications and ActiveNet an asset
– Police Vulnerable Sector Check
– Valid Driver’s License
