Summer Student – Administrative Assistant

Here’s your chance to get a great experience, learn new skills and build your resume. Spend the summer as an Administrative Assistant with The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association.

This position is full-time, 8 -13 weeks at $16.55/hour from 9am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. Work in airconditioned comfort in our office in Picton. The computer you’ll use has 3 monitors and the latest in software. We have a fabulous team of staff and volunteers from whom you’ll learn a lot. The student will meet the public, clients and volunteers, implement policy, assist with the operational procedures of the office and assist the team to live Community Care’s Vision: The freedom and dignity of choice; the comfort of home; a passion for volunteers.

Duties will include reception and field questions from seniors, caregivers and volunteers; helping with fundraising, programs and services; assist with online webinars for our social/recreational programs; the student will get a varied experience working in a busy not-for-profit environment with no two days the same.

To be eligible for this Canada Summer Jobs position applicants must be: be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and, is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
