Registered Early Childhood Educator, Early Childhood Assistant

The YMCA Northumberland, this offering located in Warkworth,  is a growing service organization and charity, with over 300 employees and 130 volunteers based out of Cobourg with Membership Centres in Cobourg, Brighton and Campbellford.  YMCA Northumberland also operates 25 licensed Child Care Centres and 5 EarlyON and Family Centres focusing on child development across Northumberland.  At YMCA Northumberland, we celebrate and embrace diversity in all its forms. 

YMCA Northumberland, is seeking a Full Time Registered Early Childhood Educator, Early Childhood Assistant to work in their Warkworth Full Day YMCA Child Care Centre.

Job Duties:

• Assist in implementing play-based, age-appropriate programs to foster child development.
• Support children’s social, emotional, language, cognitive and physical development
• Follow YMCA policies, procedures, and CCEYA licensing regulations and practices as well as adhere to Ministry of Education regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

• YMCA Playing to Learn training, YMCA A Place to Connect training or play-based curriculum experience and understanding would be an asset.
• WSIB Approved Standard First Aid/CPR Level “C” certification
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check required prior to first day of work. Police Checks are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
• Experience in program development and delivery in childcare settings an asset
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills
• Demonstrated leadership and professionalism
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office applications

Additional Information:

• This is a full-time position of approximately 35-40 hours per week
• This full-time position will be paid at the rate of $19.20 – $25.00 per hour
