Product Handler

Empire Cheese Co-Operative is presently hiring a PART TIME, Product Handler for their Campbellford location.

Empire Cheese is a Cooperative operating in the community of Campbellford Ontario. For over 140 years, Empire has proudly produced traditional hand-crafted cheese, naturally aged and free of additives and preservatives. Our team is made up of hard-working, enthusiastic individuals with a genuine love for cheese.

Empire Cheese is currently looking for a part time product packager. This fast-paced position requires strong teamwork skills, precision and patience.

Job Duties:

Job Duties:

· Operating machinery to cut, shred, slice and package product

· Physically cutting, packaging and labeling products

· Pulling product (50LB blocks of cheese) from cold storage

· Inspecting the quality of product and packaging, catching and preventing errors

· Stocking cheese in the cold room

· Organizing cheese by date of production, flavor and size

· Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitized work space

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

· Ability to work in a high stress, fast-paced environment

· Proficient multitasker

· Willingness to follow instructions

· Strict compliance to deadlines

· Enthusiastic and involved team player

Physical Requirements:

· Working in warm humid conditions

· Working in walk in refrigerators

· Standing for several hours at a time

· Capable of lifting blocks of cheese up to 50LBs

· Repetitive lifting

Education/ experience

· Experience working in food manufacturing plants or experience in the food industry (not required)

· Experience working with and within the vicinity of equipment (not required)

Additional Information:

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Expected hours: 6 – 12 per week
