Empire Cheese Co-operative, Campbellford, ON are looking to hire a Full Time – Product Handler/Cheese Cutter for their Campbellford ON, location.

Empire Cheese Co-opertive is renowned for its handcrafted, naturally aged cheeses, consistently earning accolades such as multiple first-place awards at the Royal Winter Fair. We pride ourselves on being the only cheese manufacturing plant operating in Northumberland County with long rooted history in Campbellford. We are owned by local dairy famers who hold directorship for the Board, and support the operation of the plant.

Role Overview

Empire Cheese is currently looking for a product packager/cutter. This fast-paced position requires strong teamwork skills, precision, mechanical and patience.

As part of a dedicated and hard-working team, the candidate will be responsible handling and cutting of our hand-crafted cheese.

Key Responsibilities

Operating machinery to cut, shred, slice and package product.

Physically cutting, packaging and labeling products.

Pulling product (50lb blocks of cheese) from cold storage.

Inspecting the quality of product and packaging, catching and preventing errors

Stocking cheese in the cold room.

Organizing cheese by date of production, flavor and size.

Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitized work space.

Perform light maintenance when required on equipment, carts, machinery, etc

Chemical handling.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to work in a high stress, fast-paced environment

Ability to multi-task.

Ability to stand for extended periods of time and repetitive lifting up to 50lbs.

Willingness to follow instructions.

Ability to keep and maintain document records

High attention to cleanliness and detail, including adhering to Quality, HACCP standards and procedures with zero non-conformances with regards to CFIA audits and inspections.

Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.

Comfortable working in a team setting.

High school diploma or equivalent required

Working Environment:

Working in warm humid conditions.

Working in walk in refrigerators.
