The John M. Parrott Centre is a fully accredited state-of-the-art, 168 bed long-term care home, owned and operated by the County of Lennox and Addington, in the Town of Greater Napanee.  The Centre offers free parking, a safe work environment, and advanced technology.  We are working towards becoming an RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Environmental Services, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to enhance the well-being of the individuals and communities we serve. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Perform routine, preventative, and remedial maintenance on all facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, life safety, equipment, building interiors, and grounds, in accordance with facility policies and applicable legislation (e.g., MOH, MOL, building and fire codes).
  • Provide on-call maintenance support, responding promptly to emergency and high-priority maintenance issues during off-hours.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Perform routine and deep cleaning to maintain a hospital clean environment using infection control practices

What you will bring:  

We are looking for someone who shares our passion for helping people live their best lives and brings:

  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with licensed trades; trade certification or proof of experience
  • Experience cleaning, preferably in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of infection control best practices
  • High level of technical aptitude and hands-on experience in commercial facility maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Practical knowledge and experience with commercial call bell systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), fire alarm systems, and backup generators
  • Valid Class G driver’s license with satisfactory driver’s abstract and access to reliable transportation
  • Empathy and sincere commitment to the well-being of all individuals in long-term care, regardless of age
  • Strong prioritization, organization, computer and communication skills
  • Strong team player, supporting colleagues and fostering a collaborative environment, while also able to work independently when needed
  • Proven ability to attend work regularly and punctually
  • Able to meet the physical and cognitive demands of the position
  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector, is a condition of employment
