Play Gym Assistant

County Acrobatics and Pure Joy Dance is seeking a Play Gym Assistant. The Play Gym Assistant is responsible for overseeing Play Gym sessions at County Acrobatics and Pure Joy Dance. This role includes preparing the studio for each session, welcoming participants, ensuring safety, and closing down the space at the end of each shift.

This position is contract and hours vary each week depending on session schedule. Sessions will be cancelled if no participants sign up by 8:00pm the evening prior.

Can be connected with the After School Coordinator position for additional hours.

Responsibilities:

• Arrive 30 minutes before open time to prepare for the session.

• Set up the play space and equipment as needed.

• Ensure bathrooms, floors, and common areas are clean, stocked, and ready for use.

• Greet families, check participants in, confirm payment, and ensure waivers are signed.

• Monitor play for safety and provide assistance to parents/children as required.

• Provide tours of the studio and play areas for first-time participants.

• Make an announcement 15 minutes before closing time to notify participants.

• Tidy and reset the gym after each session: sweep/mop if needed, and put away equipment as appropriate for the next scheduled activity.

• Re-check bathrooms to ensure they are clean and stocked.

• Secure the facility at closing: turn off lights and lock doors.

Qualifications:

• CPR and First Aid certification required.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.

• Comfortable engaging with children and parents in a positive, friendly manner.
