Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Marketing Communications Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. As a student in this role, you will assist with a variety of marketing and communication tasks to help execute and support our marketing strategy. This position offers valuable experience in digital marketing, content creation, social media management, and more, allowing you to apply and expand your academic knowledge in a real-world setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Assist in creating engaging content for various communication channels, including website copy, blog posts, social media, and email newsletters.
- Social Media Management: Help schedule, monitor, and analyze posts on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Event Promotion: Support the promotion of company events and campaigns by creating flyers, email templates, and digital ads.
- Market Research: Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and consumer behavior to provide insights for marketing strategies.
- Internal Communication: Assist with the preparation of internal newsletters, announcements, and other employee communications.
- Analytics Support: Help track and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and digital channels using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all marketing materials align with brand guidelines and contribute to maintaining a consistent brand voice across all platforms.
- Member/Business relations: Provide support to chamber members.
- Networking Opportunities/Engagement with Community: Opportunities to network with chamber members and community residents at chamber events.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a marketing, communications, business, or related program at a university or college.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with digital marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Canva, social media management platforms, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
- Creative mindset with attention to detail and ability to adapt to brand guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience or internship in marketing or communications is a plus but not required.
