Inclusion Northumberland, located in Campbellford, servicing the areas of Trent Hills, is seeking a Full Time – Maintenance person to support their locations (Trent Hills, Cobourg, Brighton & Surrounding Area(s).
Position Summary:
Inclusion Northumberland is a non-profit organization that provides support and services to people with developmental disabilities that promotes opportunities for personal growth within their community. We are a Nationally Accredited organization and have maintained our Accreditation standing since 2000 in each of our quality reviews by the Council on Quality Leadership.
This is a challenging position for a person with confidence in their ability to perform general building, property and vehicle maintenance, to multiple locations across Northumberland County. The successful candidate for this position will be energetic, motivated and forward thinking while assisting with maintenance related duties for Inclusion Northumberland.
Summary of Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
· Assist in the developing of schedules for regular maintenance repairs
· Work indoors and outdoors in all seasons at times completing repetitive and strenuous work
· Ensure an orderly and safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures
· Order and purchase Health & Safety, cleaning, and maintenance supplies
· Complete all duties related to Health & Safety and service as a Health & Safety Representative, if needed.
· Recognize that employees may at times need to use their personal vehicles for the purpose of work, when vehicles owned by the Organization are not reasonably available
· Perform basic duties in relation to electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems & equipment, sanitation, carpentry and HVAC, ensuring that they meet professional standards in accordance with the Building Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Fire Regulations and the policies and procedures of the Organization
· Assist in arranging the services of a skilled trade contractor or designated professional
· Ensure completion of all necessary administration and maintenance related documentation as required by MCCSS and the Organization’s polices and procedures
· Problem solve to effectively and collaboratively handle issues and conflict
· Review all incoming work orders to prioritize in order of importance and update their status accordingly
· Identify organizational trends/challenges and assist in developing solutions for resole or improvement
· Actively contribute as a position and professional member of the Inclusion Northumberland team
· Respond to maintenance related emergencies after hours when required
· Work with both internal and external committees, as required
· Other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications (including but not limited to):
Ideal candidates will have a degree/diploma from a recognized university or college in professional trades (building, mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance) or the skills and work experience diverse enough to be considered equivalent. The candidate will also have significant knowledge of/experience within with other trades departments, as well as:
· A minimum of two (2) years experience in the operation and maintenance of buildings and properties
· A minimum of one (1) year experience overseeing company fleets and scheduling regular maintenance
· Ability to perform general repairs and maintenance duties
· Comprehensive knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation
· Strong knowledge of the Occupations Health and Safety Act and WHIMIS
· Experience communicating and working alongside various skilled trades
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities on a daily basis
· Strong communication abilities both written and oral
· Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
· Proficiency with information technology, including Office 365 and Inclusion System
· Ability to maintain a professional attitude and handle stressful situations
· Proven track record to above-average performance
· Demonstrated experience conveying a helpful, supportive, positive and confident attitude
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct work within appropriate privacy standards
· Demonstrated initiative, creativity, forward thinking and team spirt
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· Experience working with diverse populations
· Must have reliable vehicle for the purpose of work, a valid Ontario Class G Driver’s license, an acceptable Driver’s Abstract and automobile insurance coverage of a least $1 Million for third party liability
· Must have valid Standard First Aid – Level C CPR and NVCI Certification (willing to train suitable candidate)
· Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

Position Type – Full Time
Hours of Work – Flexible/75 hours bi-weekly
The ability to work days, evenings & weekends is a requirement
Initial Locations – Trent Hills, Cobourg, Brighton & Surrounding Area (Flexible)
Rate of Pay – $24.92 – $26.00 per hour
