Pleasant Meadow Manor, Norwood ON, are looking to hire a Part Time, Life Enrichment Aide (LEA) for their Long Term Care facility located in Norwood, ON.

The Life Enrichment Aide (LEA) reports directly to the Life Enrichment Coordinator and is responsible for assisting with the coordination and scheduling of activities. The LEA is required to provide life enrichment programming economically, efficiently and in full compliance with all legislated and Omni standards, policies and procedures. They are designed to ensure that each resident receives support, care and services in keeping with their needs and preferences and always with a focus on excellence in customer service.

The Responsibilities
Assist the LEC to ensure that the requirements of the Fixing Long Term Care Act and Regulations, Accreditation Standards and all Omni standards, policies and procedures are met.
Assist with the appropriate utilization of all resources to support the home’s programming needs; provide input into the development of proposals for the annual operating budget.
Ensure the maintenance of a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors. Establish and enforce the expectation that hazardous conditions and actions are promptly reported and corrected.
Assist residents to coordinate the activities of the Resident Council and Family Council and provide support and assistance as requested by council.
Participate in and assist with the physical therapy program in the home as required.
Provide input into service and product evaluations to ensure that they meet the required standards of safety and quality and effectively meet the needs of the residents.
Work collaboratively with the LEC to ensure a calendar of recreational and social activities.
Education
A post-secondary degree or diploma in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or other related field, OR
Current enrollment in a community college or university in a diploma or degree program in such a field.
(A certificate of completion or proof of enrollment will be required)
