The housekeeping supervisor leads the housekeeping team in the absence of the manager. They monitor all areas of the facility, and together with their team, uphold the hotel’s standards of cleanliness. The Housekeeping Supervisor must motivate their coworkers and forge strong relationships with all departments of the hotel.

Schedule: Day shift, nigh shift, holidays, Monday to Friday, weekends as needed
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
Pay: $21 – $23.50 per hours

Responsibilities

  • Monitors global workload for the housekeeping team and assigns tasks as appropriate
  • Works complementary hours to the housekeeping manager, performing opening and/or closing duties as per the shift requirements
  • Receives all guest requests and ensures they are completed, including early arrivals and late departures
  • Reacts to last-minute situations that require housekeeping intervention
  • Conducts walkthroughs of all public areas regularly
  • Inspects guestrooms and follows up on any deficiencies
  • Collaborates with the maintenance team to ensure all maintenance requests are completed
  • Ensures all guest rooms are released and ready for arrival by 3pm
  • Assesses employee performance and provides performance management, feedback and coaching as necessary
  • Ensures all employees are using safe work practices while conducting their duties
  • Completes any special projects and tasks as assigned by the housekeeping manager
  • Performs duties of the housekeeping manager as required during their absence
  • Tracks inventory and places orders in collaboration with the housekeeping manager and the receiver
  • Completes daily, weekly, monthly reports
  • Maintains positive relationships with external suppliers and service providers
  • Performs any duties of the room attendants and housepeople as required
  • Upholds all public health requirements and works to adapt practices and procedures as such guidelines change

Qualifications

Relevant education and work experience will definitely contribute to your appeal as a candidate. However, demonstrating a natural aptitude for the tasks outlined above in conjunction with values that align with ours are the primary drivers of our hiring decisions.

Experience: 1 year housekeeping required
