Grounds Keeper/ Labourer/ Operations

Farmgate Garden Centre is the largest independently owned garden centre in the Quinte region. It has been providing the Quinte area with al its garden and landscaping needs since 1987. Located in Foxboro on 53-acre farm/nursery, it’s been said to be “one of the most beautiful farms in Eastern Ontario!”

Farmgate Garden Centre is seeking to hire both Part Time & Full Time Groundskeeper/ Labourer/ Operations positions

Job Duties:

• Unloading trucks
• Positioning of heavier plant materials
• Moving fountains and statues
• Assisting customers loading into vehicles
• String trimming
• Mowing
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Sales, horticultural, plant or landscape design knowledge and or education is an asset but nor required
• Able to life up to 50lb
• Positive attitude
• Good time management
• Communication and customer service skills
• Able to work independently as well as in a team
• Able to manage multiple tasks at once
• Problem solving skills

Additional Information:

• Wage $17.20 per hour, commensurate with knowledge, education and related experience
• Employee Discounts
• Seasonal work with possibility to return yearly (March to November)
• Part time 15-30 hours /week
• Full Time 40+ hours /week
