Food Safety Manager

Entomo Farms, located on Industrial Drive in Norwood, ON, is seeking a

PART TIME, FOOD SAFETY MANAGER for their Norwood location.

Job Duties: 

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Safety Food Manager to join our team.  The Safety Food Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food safety, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing best practices to maintain our high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Develop, update and implement food safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, CFIA)

·        Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company standards.

·        Train and educate staff on food safety protocols and practices

·        Manage and investigate food safety incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.

·        Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and other departments to promote a culture of food safety excellence.

·        Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in food safety.

Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree or extensive experience in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.

·        Certified Food Safety Manager (e.g. HACCP, SQF)

·        Proven experience in food safety management within a manufacturing or food production environment

·        Strong knowledge of food safety management within a manufacturing or food production environment.

·        Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, CFIA)

·        Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

·        Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information:

·        Compensation: $20,000-$30,000 per year

·        Job type: Part Time

·        Expected hours: No More than 20 hours per week
