Fitness Instructors/Personal Trainers

The YMCA Northumberland, Cobourg are looking to hire Part Time, Fitness Instructors/Personal Trainers for their COBOURG YMCA location.

Reporting to the Coordinator, Fitness and Community Programs, this part-time position will provide direct service delivery in leading group exercise classes, yoga and/or Pilates classes, one-on-one wellness appointments, conditioning centre orientations and one-on-one personal training. This position requires flexible work hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.   

This part-time position will be paid at the rate of $18.00 – $25.00 per hour as per the applicable role.

Additional qualifications for the position may include several of the following:

• Fitness and Health Promotion or equivalent

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in conducting group exercise classes or personal training

• Experience in developing individual and group fitness programs

• Appropriate certification in Can Fit Pro, CSEP, CALA or equivalent and Standard First Aid/CPR-C/AED

• Willingness to certify in new disciplines

• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment

• Well developed interpersonal and relationship building skills

• Excellent communication skills—written and verbal

• Police Check with the Vulnerable Sector required prior to first day worked. Police Checks will be reviewed 

   on a case-by-case basis
