Canadian Summer Job Program- Farm Helper

Are you a student or new grad looking for a summer job? This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to develop their organizational and interpersonal skills through a very rewarding summer job as Summer Student Farm Worker with Cricklewood Farms. At Cricklewood Farm every day is different and it takes a real team effort to look after the farm and prepare for the fall season. All employees are trained to perform a multitude of tasks and will work as part of a team to accomplish large tasks, and will also be required to work independently in a responsible manner.

Job Duties: 

• Operate hand tools, power tools and other farming equipment.
• Assist in constructing the corn maze.
• Apply straw mulch to raspberries.
• Thin apples and raspberry plants.
• Maintain grounds using riding lawn mower, push mower and weed wacker.
• Maintain corn maze.
• Prepare/install signage for apples, corn maze and grounds.
• Help prepare fields and plant pumpkin and squash crops.
• Maintain picnic/playground equipment.
• Hoe fields.
• Unpack and display orders.
• Clean and maintain store.

Qualifications:

• Have a desire to learn, work hard, and be responsible and motivated.
• Be self-motivated and a self-starter.
• Good communication skills.
• Have own transportation to and from work.
• Physically fit and have endurance

Additional Information:

• **LOCAL APPLICANTS ONLY – must live within 40km of Brighton**
• Full-time, Seasonal Contract – Canada Summer Job Program
• Contract length: 3 months
• Salary: $18.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday-Friday with the occasional weekend. 25-30 hours a week
