Business Development Officer – Summer Position

The Port Hope & District Chamber of Commerce, located in Port Hope, ON is seeking a Business Development Officer – Summer Position.

This position is funded through the HRSDC Canada Summer Jobs program so all candidates must be under the age of 30 at the start of employment. Returning to school is not a requirement for this position

Port Hope & District Chamber of Commerce

Job Duties:

Working with the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce this position will plan, prepare and deliver support and information for the business community.

The Business Development Assistant will participate in and assist with the general operation of the Port Hope & District Chamber of Commerce. The primary focus is to assist with reviewing practices and operations of a small not for profit to consider efficiencies.

This includes but is not limited to

1) Technology Hardware/Software Needs

2) Social Media Planning and Delivery

3) Membership Recruitment Strategies and Tools

4) Day to Day operation Improvements

Additional Information:

·         This is a 31 hour per week position.

·         Shifts may include some evening and weekend hours based on activities.

·         The hourly rate is $17.75/hr.

·         This position is more suited to post-secondary students as it will start before the end of the current school year.

·         Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is a requirement.
