YMCA Northumberland currently has an opening for the following positions:

Building Services Cleaner, Sunny Life Recreation and Wellness Centre, CAMPBELLFORD

 Position Status: Hourly, flexible work week. 

Salary Range: Range of $15.60 – $16.55 per hour

Reports To: Supervisor, Maintenance and Cleaning

Job Duties:

Nature and Scope:

The Building Services Cleaner is responsible for ensuring all YMCA Northumberland assets are clean and well-maintained through regularly scheduled cleaning shifts and other general cleaning tasks as assigned. The Building Services Cleaner collaborates with YMCA staff, volunteers and members and demonstrates a willingness to contribute to the larger Association team environment. The Building Services Cleaner ensures a work ethic that reflects the mission, vision, values and goals of YMCA Northumberland. The Cleaner, who is accountable to the Supervisor, Maintenance and Cleaning is responsible for ensuring that the quality and high standards of excellence in cleaning and maintenance systems align with the YMCA Standards.

Responsibilities:

• Cleans and sanitizes/disinfects all assigned areas
• Demonstrates in depth knowledge of the policies and procedures of YMCA Northumberland that includes WHMIS, Health and Safety and Child Protection
• Responsible for maintaining general safety to include safe placement of tools, supplies and effective use of all entrances and exits to both interior and exterior environments
• Responsible for the organization of supplies and assets as required to include proper positioning of equipment and delivery/removal of equipment for program delivery as required
• Works at heights at times
• Lifts up to 45lbs
• Work outside as required by season
• Cleans and maintains the hot tub (after receiving specialized training) to include chemical balance
• Other duties as assigned

• Work Environment:

  • Based out of Sunny Life Recreation and Wellness Centre YMCA Branch
  • Primarily inside work with some outside work
  • Regularly scheduled shifts with the option of additional call ins

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Experience preferred
• Valid First Aid and CPR training
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check required (if over 18 years). Police Checks are reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Valid Driver’s License an asset
