BARTENDER

Hours per week: 10-12

This position is responsible for fulfilling drink requests for guests, answering questions about drink ingredients and making suggestions for different types of beverages and cocktails. Beverages include draught beer, wine, sparkling wine, mixed drinks with garnish, non-alcoholic beverages, and the potential for specialty cocktails.

Responsibilities

– Greeting guests and outlining offerings with the utmost courtesy, assessing their needs and making recommendations

– Cater to guest’s needs within our space (i.e.: adjusting tables, fetching napkins, adding a chair to their group table etc.)

– Master communicative multi-tasking: during busy rushes maintain a balance of calm and urgency when handling guests and tasks

– Fulfilling drink requests

– Restocking fridges with pops, wines

– Clearing glassware from interior and exterior using tray, then returning to bar to wash and restock

– Bathroom checks every 30-45 minutes

– Keep the bar organized, stocked and tidy

– Establish the mood by adjusting the lighting throughout the night

– Cater to guest’s needs within our space (i.e.: adjusting tables, fetching napkins, adding a chair to their group table etc.)

– Monitor alcohol intake of guests to ensure safety

– ID guests who appear to be 23 and under

– Work as a team: communicate clearly and efficiently to your fellow bartenders ensuring a seamless flow of service

– Perform closing duties: resetting bar, main floor and lower level washrooms – tidy for cleaners.
