Carquest is seeking an Auto Parts Counter Person to join their Picton team.

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide in class customer service and DIY issue resolution
- Provide a great selling experience for all DIY customers including walk-in, on-line orders, and phone
- Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
- Manage DIY services including battery testing, wiper installation, etc.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance standards
- Key holder responsibilities (task assignment and completion, safety, open/close duties)
Secondary Responsibilities
- Assist in store inventory processes including POGs, truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, back stock, etc.
- Back Up to Professional service
- Store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
Requirements
This role is responsible for providing advanced automotive problem resolution including identification, trouble shooting and projection assistance for DIY customers. The role has the ability to source from numerous places including special order, FDO, second source, etc. The role had in-depth knowledge of the store inventory and maintenance processes.
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostic ability to include internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust, etc.
- Speak and write English – French is a plus; effective communication and ability to build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals; ability to write simple correspondence
- Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment
- Understanding and application of basic math: addition, subtraction, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Effective use of Microsoft software (Word and Excel required)
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexibility to work an assortment of days including: days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to walk/stand while preforming majority of job duties
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and/or move 50 lbs frequently and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
- Employee is usually working inside, however, occasional outside and exposure to various weather conditions will be required.
