After School Coordinator

County Acrobatics and Pure Joy Dance is seeking a responsible, enthusiastic, and caring After School Care Coordinator to support our after-school program. The Coordinator will be responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children, while ensuring smooth transitions between activities and maintaining a clean and organized space.

This position is contract and runs Monday to Friday, 2:00–5:00 PM (possibly until 5:30 PM), beginning September 8, 2025. Pay is $25 per hour. There is also the possibility of combining this role with our Play Gym times for a larger part-time position.

Can be connected with the Play Gym Assistant position for additional hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up daily program activities, games, and crafts (materials provided by County Acrobatics).

• Set up mats in the Joy studio for free play time.

• Assist with setting up the bouncy castle for special activities.

• Ensure the studio and common areas remain clean and tidy throughout the program.

• Greet children at the bus stop, check them in, take attendance, and ensure all students are accounted for.

• Provide supervision and oversight during free play time, ensuring children’s safety and well-being.

• Facilitate transitions into lower-key activities (e.g., board games, crafts, reading, quiet play).

• Distribute and supervise a healthy snack (provided by County Acrobatics).

• Greet parents at pick-up time and ensure proper check-out of children.

• Ensure that all students staying past 4:30 PM are in the office to wait for pick-up.

• Stay until 5:00 PM (or 5:30 PM as needed) for any late pick-ups and ensure all program areas are clean before leaving.

• Coordinate with parents/caregivers regarding:

  • Changes in pick-up times

  • Changes in authorized pick-up persons

  • Any other updates or changes

• Assist students who are attending classes with County Acrobatics and Pure Joy Dance by helping them get ready and leading them to the appropriate studio.

Qualification:

• Must have current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.

• Must provide a clear Police Records Check.

• Must enjoy planning activities and crafts for children and working with children.

• Previous experience working with children in a recreational, childcare, or educational setting is an asset.

• ECE education is considered a strong bonus.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to manage groups of children with patience and a positive attitude.

• Reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious.
