March Break – Camp Counsellor (1 Week Contract – Full Time)

Inclusion Northumberland, located in Campbellford, is seeking a March Break – Camp Counsellor for a 1 Week Contract commencing – March 10^th to 14^th, 2025

Inclusion Northumberland is a non-profit organization that provides support and services to people with developmental disabilities that promotes opportunities for personal growth within their community.  We are a Nationally Accredited organization and have maintained our Accreditation standing since 2000 in each of our quality reviews facilitated by the Council on Quality Leadership.

The Campbellford Community Resource Centre provided a March Break Camp opportunity for students aged 6-12.  We are seeking an enthusiastic Camp Counsellor to assist with the facilitation of fun and engaging activities, both indoors and outdoors throughout the week.

Skills/Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will be over the age of 18 and must possess:

· Experience working with children and the ability to independently supervise group activities

· Strong communication abilities both written and orally

· Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills

· Proficiency with information technology, including Microsoft Office

· Able to maintain a professional attitude; ability to handle stressful situations

· Demonstrated experience conveying a helpful, supportive, positive and confident attitude

· Able to maintain confidentiality and conduct work within appropriate privacy standards

· Demonstrated initiative, creativity, forward thinking and team spirit

· Able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

· Experience working with diverse populations

· A willingness to work varying hours as the job may require days, evenings and weekend work

· Preferred candidate would possess a valid Ontario Driver’s license and reliable vehicle for the purpose of travelling to and for work

· Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) for applicants 18+ (within the last 6 months)

· Current Standard First Aid – Level C CPR Certification

· Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certification (or willingness to obtain through in house instructor)

Position Type – Full Time Student Contract (1Position available)

Contract Duration – 1 Week (Flexible start between March 10-14, 2025)

Hours of Work – 35-40 hours

Initial Locations – Flexible/Trent Hills & Surrounding Areas

Rate of Pay – $17.20 per hour
