Tuck Shop Attendant

Job Summary

The Tuck Shop Attendant will have a heart for Christian ministry.  They will perform a number of frontline food services duties ensuring a positive and healthy food services experience for all Wesley Acres Guests.

Tuck Shop Attendant Responsibilities

• Tend to the tuck shop (including scooping ice cream, selling tuck shop items, cleaning the tuck shop, etc.)
• Wash dishes, sweep, wipe tables, mop floors, etc.
• Clean kitchen and café
• Change garbage’s in tuck shop and covered patio
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Lock doors and windows at closing time
• Any other duties as assigned and requested by Food Services Manager, Executive Director or Administrative Services Manager

Tuck Shop Attendant Requirements:

• Food Safe Handler’s Certificate
• Ability to adhere to and abide by the Statements of Faith of the Free Methodist Church in Canada
• Ability to promote the Christian mission of Wesley Acres through words and actions
• Previous waitstaff experience an asset
• Previous POS and cash handling experience an asset
• Willingness to be a positive team player

Working Conditions (hours, environment, etc.)

• 15 – 25 hours/week
• Any day of the week including Saturdays, Sundays & holidays
• Interaction with employees, management, and the public at large
• Physically demanding tasks, standing and moving for long periods of time

Dress Code

• Wesley Acres Inc. staff t-shirts
• Capris or long pants (with no holes) – no shorts
• Closed toe/closed heel shoes – absolutely no open toe/heel sandals or Crocs
• Hair restraints – hairnets, beard nets and/or ball caps
