Q. Are the services FREE?

All of our services are free; other than specific courses which are offered on a cost recovery basis. E.g. Smart Serve and First Aid/CPR. These are offered as a convenience to individuals who need access to training in their local communities.

Q. What kind of service do you offer?

We offer help with cover letters, resumes, getting ready for an interview and job search.  You can get assistance in the Resource Centre; by attending our workshops; or by meeting with an Employment Counsellor.  We can assist you in exploring your options for training and we can assess your eligibility for financial assistance. We can assist you with information on all Employment Ontario Programs such as Second Career.   Our Resource Centre has extensive information on Education options and Apprenticeship careers. We have an up to date job board. Free fax and photocopying service and computers with internet access are available for job search use. Some offices may offer additional services.

Q. What time are your hours of operation?

Hours of operation vary by location. Please visit our Contact Page for local hours.

Q. Do I have to do a cover letter when I apply for a job?

In this competitive labour market, it is best to do a cover letter. It may mean the difference between getting an interview and having your resume ignored. We have booklets on how to write cover letters in our Resource Centres. We also have Resource Counsellors who can assist you in writing them.

Q. How do I access training?

Call or come in to our Resource Centres to make an appointment to meet with one of our Employment Counsellors. They can assess your situation and determine your eligibility. If you are eligible, your Employment Counsellor will assist you in exploring your options for training.

Q. My friend had his training/schooling paid for. How can I get this?

Every situation is different. Your Employment Counsellor can assess your eligibility for financial assistance.

Anyone is very welcome to use our services.

Drop in anytime, during our business hours detailed in our Contact Page, or call and make an appointment if you require a specific service.

Q. Do you find people jobs?

We can help you find a job. We work closely with local employers to help them with their human resource needs. Many employers post their positions exclusively with us and we refer qualified candidates to them. We are not a temporary placement agency.
