Greater Than is a collective of youth, organizations, and adult allies working together in the County to improve the lives of youth in Prince Edward County. Greater Than County Youth Collective strives to empower youth voices for systems change in Prince Edward County through youth and community connection.

Position Summary

This position will support a Youth-led Community Wellbeing Outreach and Education project. This project is designed to support youth to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential by engaging in youth-led research and education campaigns focusing on alcohol and substance use. The Youth Outreach & Education Coordinator will support the Project Coordinator by assisting with completing the project workplan. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and capacity building, bridging academic knowledge with workplace application while developing professional skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Assistance: assisting with the planning and implementation of youth-led research
  • Event planning: engaging local youth and community on the topic of wellbeing
  • Co-designing an educational campaign centred in youth voice
  • Utilizing social media to reach maximum number of youth

 


Qualifications:

  • Youth aged 16-29
  • Attributes: Self-motivated, punctual, and eager to learn
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Organization: Ability to multitask and organize priorities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic knowledge of various social medias (Instagram, Facebook) and Google Applications.
  • A clear Vulnerable Sector Check (if above 18 years old).

Working Conditions & Hours

  • Hours: 14 hours per week, flexible depending on schedule
  • Environment: Office at Prince Edward Learning Centre, in-community events, and remote
