Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have experience with records management? Are you interested in learning about the building inspection process? Our Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications from students to fill the summer position of Student Building Representative to support the Development Services Department in Prince Edward County, a vibrant community with beautiful beaches, wide open landscapes and ample opportunities for outdoor fun, including artistic and cultural events, food, music and wineries/breweries.
The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a post-secondary program, preferably in Architectural or Civil Engineering Technology and will be returning to school in the Fall. This student will report to the Chief Building Official and will be responsible for providing general support to the Building Department. Key responsibilities will include assisting with the digitization and archiving of building permit records and assisting with Mandatory Sewage System Inspections in Source Water Protection Areas.
Qualifications:
- Enrolment in a recognized post-secondary program and returning to school in the Fall.
- Knowledge of computer software and ability to learn new programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Safety conscious and can provide own certified safety footwear.
- Proof of a valid ‘G2’ or ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
