As a Healthcare Security Guard, you will be responsible for working with a small, dedicated team to deliver the exceptional service Paladin provides. You will report directly to the site’s Lead Hand when it comes to fulfilling the responsibilities of the role, as well as any documentation/reports from incidents during your shift.

Job Description

  • Observant and fastidious in note-taking
  • Above average mediation, de-escalation, and conflict resolution scenarios
  • Concierge-focused (customer service) interactions with the general public, patients, and clients
  • Programming access cards and managing active cards
  • Patient Watch
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
  • Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
  • Valid G class License, and reliable working vehicle
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
  • A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, pertussis, and TB Skin Tests – Step 1 & 2)
    • Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.

  • Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
  • Minimum 6 months of security experience required
    • Minimum 6 months of healthcare experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, French is considered an asset
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
    • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin’s UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
    • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada

Additional Information:

Hours: | Various Days – 0800-2000 and/or Nights 2000-0800
Payrate: | $18.00 -19.50/hour

Overtime Method: | Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Note: Candidates for the casual position should have the availability/flexibility to work 2-3 12-hour shifts in a week and open availability for weekends/holidays
