Our Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for the permanent part-time position of Recreation Attendant. Reporting to the Supervisor, Recreation, the Recreation Attendant ensures that the needs of our community are met by maintaining departmental assets including electrical, janitorial, structural, ice maintenance, grass cutting and park maintenance of the community centre properties, parks with playgrounds, ball diamonds, splash pad and courts. The Recreation Attendant also provides support by completing facility booking set-ups, teardowns and monitoring of events.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent. Consideration may be given to a combination of education and related experience.
  • Basic Refrigeration certification is a considered an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and those using Recreation and Community Facilities.
  • Valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence and a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Background Check, dated within the last six months.
  • Ability to complete day, evening and weekend shifts, and work at various locations.

The current rate of pay for this position is $27.99 to $29.34 per hour, plus 10% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation as per Band 6 of CUPE Local 2275’s Collective Agreement.
