Broken Stone Winery has a mission of producing world class wines from locally grown grapes. We have been farming grapes in Prince Edward County since 2009. Founded in agriculture, in 2023, all our wines were estate grown in Prince Edward County.
In our family-owned winery we provide exceptional wine tasting experiences to our guests. We are known for creating exceptional agritourism experiences in wine tasting, food service and vineyard tours. Through exceptional service, our retail team is instrumental in showcasing our wines, relating our County story and creating lasting impressions. We are known for being friendly, outgoing, polite, and professional.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals for our Pizza program. We opened our pizza oven in 2023 and made exceptional Neapolitan pizza.
As our pizza chef you will be responsible for the following:
- Preparing pizza dough, sauces, and various toppings. Dough preparation will include identifying proofing timelines and required quantities of dough for the week. Topping preparations include dairy, vegetable and meat products.
- Lighting wood fired pizza oven and monitoring the temperature of the pizza oven throughout the day.
- Preparing high-quality pizzas according to our in-house recipes.
- Monitoring inventory and placing orders for more supplies as needed.
- Cleaning workstations before pizza preparation.
- Ensuring that all utensils and cooking equipment are sterilized before each use.
- Plating or packaging pizzas accordingly.
- Managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers’ orders are completed in a timely manner.
- Interaction with tasting room staff to ensure customer expectations are met. Interaction with customers may be required.
- Disposing of expired or spoiled ingredients at the end of each shift.
- Ensuring the workstation is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at the end of each shift.
Our pizza offering will begin on weekends in mid-April and 7 days a week in May through to the end of September, with possible weekends in October.
