A Brief Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Health Education and Health Promotion Programs within Student Wellness Services, the Integrated Wellness Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of a wide range of programs and initiatives designed to promote health and increase student mental well-being within the Faculty of Arts and Science. As the Coordinator for a newly launching (donor-funded) integrated Health Promotion program, this position will identify and implement strategic, evidence-based programming and events with the goal to improve the well-being of students, in order to help guide students to resources and ensure easy and timely access to professional care. This role will facilitate peer to peer programming, oversee the work of student staff and volunteers and will provide organizational support and leadership to ensure collaboration and partnerships. Through commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, the Coordinator is accountable for developing, implementing and leading strategies and programming that will promote and maintain an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of the campus community.
This position recruits, coordinates, and schedules student volunteers, acts as a mentor, and provides ongoing feedback and direction regarding activities. This position provides expertise on the content of health and wellness initiatives and communications including on healthy lifestyle activities. This position plans, develops, refines, and delivers health and wellness programs, training, services, events, and workshops. This position collects data, evaluates effectiveness, and provides expertise to support the planning of future programming offerings, new objectives, materials, and other supports. This position also collaborates with departments and university community partners to implement programs and initiatives that support student health and wellness.
The schedule for this position requires the incumbent to work frequent early mornings, evenings and weekends, according to program or area needs.
What you will do
- Recruits, coordinates, and schedules student volunteers, acts as a mentor, and provides ongoing feedback and direction regarding activities.
- Provides expertise on health and wellness initiatives and communications including on healthy lifestyle activities.
- Plans, develops, and delivers health and wellness programs, training, services, events, and workshops.
- Provides advice in areas such as healthy eating, sleep, physical activity, harm reduction, and safe substance uses.
- Collaborates with departments and university community partners to implement programs and initiatives that support student health and wellness.
- Collects data, evaluates effectiveness, and provides expertise to support the planning of future programming offerings, new objectives, materials, and other supports.
- Develops, recommends, and implements health and wellness promotional communications, educational resources, policies, and procedures.
- Participates in planning activities for future programming offerings, new objectives, and other supports.
Required Education
- Four-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
Required Experience
- More than 2 years and up to and including 3 years of experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check required.
- Vulnerable Sector Screening required.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
