Alternatives for Women, a feminist organization, provides Second Stage Housing, free counselling, and transitional services to women who have experienced abuse and intimate partner violence. 

AFW is seeking female applicants for the following position: 
Housing Stability & Partnerships Coordinator  
12-month contract
Full Time 35 hours a week
Hourly rate range from $26.76-$28.11
Benefits program provided.

The Housing Stability & Partnerships Coordinator bridges direct housing support with community engagement and fund development, strengthening partnerships that expand housing opportunities and sustain transitional housing initiatives. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with community partners, funders, and service providers to improve housing access and resources, coordinate transitional housing projects, coordinate volunteers and address gaps in housing stability services.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Post Secondary Education in Social Services/Non-profit/Fund development, or equivalent through combination of relevant education and related experience
  • Familiarity with and experience working in the area of not for profit
  • Demonstrated commitment to women’s issues and the anti-violence movement
  • Experienced in public speaking
  • Understanding of and commitment to working within an intersectional feminist, anti-racism, anti-oppression framework understanding the social, economic and political context of gender-based violence
  • Ability to promote teamwork and strength in a staff group, as well as work autonomously
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of community services, housing systems and supports in Prince Edward County
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Current CPR / First Aid Certificate
  • Criminal Background check with Vulnerable Sector
