True Training Academy is seeking a Part Time In person & Remote French as a Second Language Teacher
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver language instruction: conduct online classes in French, tailored to the proficiency levels of the government employees
- Curriculum Alignment: Utilize your own learning materials, while aligning with the Programme de francais langue seconde (PFL2) and the standards set by the Canada School of Public Service (CSPS)
- Regularly assess student progress through exercises, assignments, and formal evaluations, and provide constructive feedback
- Effectively manage the classroom environment to ensure a productive and respectful learning atmosphere. Develop lesson plans
- Prepare and submit reports on student attendance, participation, and progress
- Continuously update teaching skills and knowledge, especially in areas related to bilingual education and online teaching methodologies
- Collaborate with advisors, program administrators, and management to ensure alignment of educational objectives and teaching schedules
- Fluent in either French or English, with strong command of language structures, vocabulary, and pronunciation
Skills/Qualifications:
- Strong ability to teach language concepts clearly and effectively, adapting to various learning styles and proficiency levels
- Proficient in using online teaching platforms, preferably Microsoft Teams and various digital teaching tools
- Able to build rapport with adult learners, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment
- Employ creative and innovative teaching methods to make language learning more engaging and effective for adult learners
- Capable to manage class schedules, prepare lesson plans, and maintain accurate records
- Preferred experience teaching federal employees; otherwise, must be open to learning
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience
- Fluent French/ Intermediate or Advanced English
- Bachelor’s Degree from Canadian University or an equivalency certificate issues by an accredited institution
Additional Information:
- Courses are held between 8am and 5pm ET. Must be available to teach a minimum of 15 hours per week within these times
- A profile outlining teaching experience (including total hours, not on another school’s letterhead)
-Minimum 100 hours (since 2015) for candidates with a Bachelor of Education
– Minimum 400 hours (since 2015) for candidates with a degree in another field - A copy of their university diploma
- Proof of Canadian equivalency (if applicable), such as a WES certificate
- A valid security clearance, or a completed application (forms can be provided)
- Wages $25-$46.61 per hour
