Youth Habilitation Quinte Inc.’s Employment Ontario Employment Services Program, known as Career Edge, requires an Employment Advisor to provide services at our Napanee location. This is a new full-time permanent position working 35 hours per week, with a starting wage of $25.929 per hour. The role will commence as soon as possible and offers vacation time, sick leave, group insurance and a pension plan.

Who You Are

As the Employment Advisor, you are a part of our Employment Services team and your passion for providing exceptional customer service contributes to empowering clients in maintaining employment. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with Employment Counsellors, Employer and Community Liaisons, and Employment Skills Coaches to provide wraparound support tailored to each individual’s needs. You bring a client-centered approach to identifying potential challenges or barriers to retaining employment, providing appropriate referrals to resources and supports, and helping clients focus on goals. You assist with connections to skills development, accommodations planning, and offer ongoing encouragement to help clients stay on track. With your deep understanding of employment legislation, government-funded programs, and community partnerships, you ensure clients are equipped with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in the workforce. Your attention to detail, thorough documentation practices, and commitment to meeting service delivery standards ensure both client success and program accountability in a high-paced, dynamic environment.

Skills We’re Looking for:

·         Excellent communication skills 

·         Strong case management skills including entering accurate case notes and maintaining organized files  

·         Effective time management skills to meet timelines and targets by prioritizing tasks  

·         Knowledge of the local labour market and labour legislation  

·         Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, OPS/BPS, ESCases, Email, Databases) 

Qualifications Required:

·         College Diploma in a related field preferred

·         Minimum of two years of employment counselling experience is preferred

·         Valid driver’s licence
