Delivery Driver

Outpost Packaging Products Ltd. in HASTINGS is looking to hire a FULL TIME, DELIVERY DRIVER for their warehouse location.

Outpost Packaging Products is a distributor of packaging products in Central Ontario service both industrial and food service businesses since 1977.  The office and 10,000 square foot warehouse are located outside of Hastings.  Orders are processed from start to finish including delivery by our friendly and competent staff from Scarborough to Kingston and more.

Job Description:

The Delivery Driver is responsible for serving customers in person.  The Delivery Driver is accountable for dealing with customers site expectations and timing.  The Delivery Driver follows all procedures and policies when providing customer service.  The Delivery Driver participates in all assigned training, setting and meeting personal goals.  The Delivery Driver understands their role as brand ambassadors and provides positive brand experiences to all customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload goods from truck
• Work directly with customer staff on delivery
• Help plan and drive route as efficiently as possible
• Keep paperwork legible and orgainzed
• Assist to resolve customer problems, acting as the customer liaison between other departments when necessary
• Learn and be knowledgeable about the products provided and the day-to-day operations of the company

Qualifications:

• Valid Ontario G license
• Provision of drivers abstract and CVOR abstract
• Minimum 5 years experience operating a heavy truck
• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
• Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handing skills
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Able to work well under pressure
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to deal with people sensitivity, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
• Professional appearance and manners
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Additional Information:

Working Conditions:

• Physical position – must be capable of loading goods on and off vehicle
• Overtime as required
• Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required
• Sitting for extended periods of time
