Dietary Aid- Part-time & Casual

Trent Valley Lodge is long -term care home, located in Treton. We are nestled in a residential area on the shores of the Bay of Quinte giving our residents a spectacular view in a warm, relaxed, homelike setting. We are family owned and operated. The Weaver family has been serving the Trenton Community for over 40 years.

Trent Valley Lodge is looking for Dietary Aids, Part Time & Casual to join their team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide food service support to residents, including meal preparation, portioning, and service.
• Assemble and deliver resident meals in accordance with dietary requirements and established timelines.
• Restock supplies and maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
• Dishwashing, and waste removal.
• Support a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment for residents.
• Work collaboratively with team members, dietary staff, and other departments as required.
• Perform general housekeeping duties using equipment such as mops, vacuums, and floor machines.
• Follow all Public Health regulations, infection control practices, WHMIS, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Valid Food Handler’s Certificate (Public Health)
• College-level Food Service Worker Program (or willingness to obtain)
• Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
• Two-step tuberculosis (TB) skin test prior to employment
• Proof of at least 2 COVID-19 vaccinations
• Ability to complete mask fit testing
• Basic understanding of food and nutrition
• Ability to follow recipes, measurements, and portion control guidelines
• Knowledge of HACCP (safe food handling standards)
• Knowledge of IDDSI Framework (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) is an asset
• Following but not limited to, all Regulations in the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, and Trent Valley Lodge Policies and Procedures
• Strong communication skills with residents, families, and staff
• Customer service mindset with focus on resident-centered care
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability to changing assignments and work areas
• Availability to work scheduled shifts (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)
• Flexibility to accept short notice shifts
• Completion of orientation and training within the probation period

Additional Information:

• Ability to reliability commute to and form work
• Wages $23.29 per hour
