Bantam is entering an exciting new chapter! We are relocating to Picton Main Street and opening our doors in April 2026. As a Feast ON certified restaurant, we are deeply committed to the “Bounty of the County,” sourcing our ingredients directly from Prince Edward County farms and suppliers. Responsibilities:
Culinary Craft & Creativity
- Creative Execution: Prepare and cook menu items with a focus on thoughtful, creative, and beautifully presented dishes.
- Seasonal Innovation: Help bring our ever-changing menu to life, respecting the integrity of ingredients from our Prince Edward County farms and suppliers.
- Catering & Events: Bring your energy and artistic eye to our off-site catering and special event offerings.
Full-Service Collaboration (As Needed)
- Station Excellence: Maintain the highest standards of service by polishing cutlery and glassware to perfection and ensuring plates, napkins, and essentials are always stocked and ready for the rush.
- Front of House Support: We believe in a “one-team” philosophy. During peak moments, you’ll jump in to support the floor by greeting guests, bussing tables, and running food.
- Brand Ambassadorship: Act as the face of Bantam—welcoming back our loyal regulars while introducing new customers to our story and local mission.
Stock & Inventory Management
- Inventory Oversight: Conduct regular inventory counts of all ingredients, dry goods, and kitchen supplies.
- Stock Rotation: Execute strict FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to minimize waste and ensure peak quality.
- Receiving & Quality Control: Manage deliveries from producers, verifying order accuracy and inspecting arrivals.
Kitchen Operations & Flow
- Sanitary Excellence: Lead by example with a “clean-as-you-go” mentality, including dishwashing and deep-cleaning schedules.
Requirements:
- High Initiative: You are a true self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You see what needs to be done and take action independently, without needing constant direction.
- Attitude First: You are a professional, reliable, and positive “team player” who loves to have fun while working hard.
- Creative Spark: You are a creative problem-solver who cares about the “why” behind a dish as much as the “how.”
- The Stamina: Able to work on your feet for the majority of the day for a busy opening and catering events.
Availability:
- Schedule: Available for 9:00 AM starts (weekdays and weekends).
- Flexibility: Must be available for occasional evenings for events and catering.
- Certifications: Valid Ontario Food Handler Certificate and Smart Serve.
