Cashier

Wellington Foodland is currently hiring a Cashier for an immediate start.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by greeting customers and responding to their needs, concerns, and inquiries.

• Process purchases accurately by scanning or entering product prices, handling payment transactions, and packing groceries.

• Maintain and balance the cash drawer by securing funds, monitoring cash levels, and replenishing as needed.

• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the front-end area by cleaning/disinfecting surfaces, restocking and facing magazines, supplies, and candy, dusting, and returning misplaced items to their proper departments.

• Manage front-end product inventory, including candy and batteries, by placing orders, removing expired items, and restocking deliveries.

• Support other departments and perform additional duties as required.

Required skills:

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and helpful attitude.

• Effective verbal communication with customers and team members.

• Basic math skills for handling cash and processing transactions.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

• Physically capable of performing the duties of the position (e.g., standing for extended periods, lifting and moving grocery items 5-20 kg).
