Maple View Retirement Residence, located in Norwood, is a beloved Retirement and Assisted Living Facility in the heart of Norwood.
Maple View Retirement Residence is seeking a Full Time, Building Maintenance Manager to join their team.
Job Description:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the general maintenance, servicing and repair of operations to maintain the residence, equipment, furnishings, fixtures and the surrounding grounds in proper condition. Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors and other staff members. Adheres to all regulations and standards in accordance with the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority.
- General inspection, maintenance, upkeep and repairs to building, equipment and furnishings.
- Inspect and maintain the effectiveness of mechanical, electrical, fire detection and safety systems and making or arranging for any necessary minor adjustments as needed and/or instructed. Maintain records
- Routine inspections and maintenance of grounds, emergency exits, sidewalks and parking lots, including snow/ice removal from all exits, and resident vehicles if needed.
- Correspond with and supervise outside contractors, service companies and providers and co-ordinate multiple quotes for comparison
- General decorating, including surface repairs, painting, wallpapering, and moving furnishings.
- Maintain the premises inside and out, in a neat and tidy fashion
- Maintain a high level of safety and security for residents, staff, visitors and guests
- Participate in Fire drill safety and Mock Disaster procedures
- Follow preventative maintenance programs for all building systems and equipment
- Perform all weekly, monthly, seasonal and yearly inspections, complete inspection reports and make or arrange for all necessary repairs or adjustments. Maintain required records and reports in its regards.
- Ensure an adequate inventory of maintenance supplies for day-to-day use and submit orders to manager for approval in a timely manner.
- To work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act by using or wearing appropriate safety and protective equipment, reporting any missing or defective safety or protective equipment or persons not complying with safety policies.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of the Fire Safety Planning Training for Owners and Operators in accordance with the Ontario Regulation 150/13
- Previous experience in a maintenance position is preferred
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
