Payroll/ Accounting Clerk

Youth Habilitation Quinte Inc.’s Accounting Department requires a Payroll/Accounting Clerk to provide services from our Belleville location commencing immediately. This is a full-time permanent position. This position offers benefits including vacation time, sick time, group insurance, and a pension plan.

Youthab is a community based non-profit organization established in 1984 with services designed around 3 pillars: housing, mental health, and employment. We support, connect, and empower people to obtain and maintain safe and affordable housing, good mental health, and employment, facilitating their transition to independence. Our programs operate under the names of Youthab, Career Edge, and Next Step Housing Connection and are free and confidential.

Who You Are

You are a detail oriented and organized payroll professional with a diploma in a related field and at least two years of payroll experience, ideally in a non-profit setting. You thrive under deadlines, manage sensitive information with discretion and integrity, while keeping a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will maintain the payroll function of the agency ensuring accurate and complete financial records while complying with the Employment Standards Act and Canada Revenue Agency regulations. Utilizing excellent communication skills, the successful candidate will work closely with the HR Administrator and the Financial Administrator and will adhere to all agency policies and procedures.

 Qualifications:

·         Preference will be given to an individual with a Community/Business College diploma in a related field.

·         A minimum of two years of experience in payroll is required.

·         Experience in a non-profit environment is preferred.

·         Knowledge of ESA standards and CRA guidelines.

·         Skills in Microsoft Word processing, Excel, general journal payroll entries and accruals, and data-based systems.

·       Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP Accounting software and Quadrant Workforce Payroll software is an asset.

·         Valid Driver’s License.
