Summer Student- Social Media & Web Design/Maintenance

The Royal Canadian Legion, Trenton Branch is seeking a Full time Summer Student to help in the Legion office as a Social Media and Web Design Associate. Legion Branches are the cornerstone of communities across Canada and provide one of the largest volunteer bases in the country. With 1,350 Branches from coast to coast to coast, our members provide local services and support to build a stronger Canada.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, shoot, and edit original high-quality visual content (short-form videos/Reels/TikToks, graphics, infographics, and photos).
• Research trending formats, audio, and hashtags to ensure content remains fresh, relevant, and “scroll-stopping”.
• Tailor content to specific social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok).
• Engage with followers, reply to comments and messages to build community.
• Update and maintain website content (text, images, banners) to reflect new campaigns and company updates.
• Create visually appealing, user-friendly landing pages and web elements (buttons, banners) that improve conversion rates.
• Ensure all content and web design adheres to brand guidelines and messaging.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Experience in social media platforms; Facebook, Instagram, and CANVA

• Excellent communication skills
• Must have experience and proficient with computers, and electronics

• Excellent problem-solving skills

Additional Information:

• Wages $17.95 per hour, 35 hours per week
• Must be available to work 9am – 4pm Monday-Friday
• Contract position starting ASAP ending August 30^th, 2026
