County Stage Company is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and detail-oriented Stage Manager / Assistant Stage Manager to join our summer production team through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
This position offers an emerging theatre worker the opportunity to gain hands-on professional experience in stage management, rehearsal coordination, and live performance operations within a fast-paced repertory environment. The successful candidate will serve as Stage Manager for Pinocchio and Assistant Stage Manager for First Date and Mouthpiece, working closely with the directors, cast, designers, and production team across the 2026 summer season.
Position Summary
The Stage Manager / Assistant Stage Manager will play a key role in supporting the smooth execution of County Stage Company’s summer repertory season. This role will lead stage management for Pinocchio, including rehearsal support, backstage coordination, and performance calling, while also assisting the lead Stage Managers of First Date and Mouthpiece with rehearsal tracking, backstage operations, and daily production needs.
This is an ideal opportunity for a student or emerging theatre practitioner interested in stage management, production coordination, and professional repertory theatre.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Stage Manager for Pinocchio
- Serve as Assistant Stage Manager for First Date and Mouthpiece
- Support rehearsal setup, daily rehearsal needs, and room organization
- Track blocking, cues, props, and rehearsal notes
- Prepare and distribute rehearsal reports and daily calls
- Support backstage operations during technical rehearsals and performances
- Call performances for Pinocchio
- Assist with prop tracking, preset, and backstage transitions
- Maintain prompt books and production paperwork
- Support communication between creative and production teams
- Assist with general production coordination as needed
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in stage management, technical theatre, or live performance production
- Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working collaboratively with artists and production teams
- Prior stage management or backstage experience is an asset
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and production paperwork is an asset
- Ability to work evenings and weekends during rehearsals and performances

To be eligible for this position through the Canada Summer Jobs program, applicants must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
