Sourdough Baker

The Elmbrook Farm is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Sourdough Baker to join our growing team. This position is currently based in our home bakery, with plans to move to a retail bakery location in Picton by mid-to-late summer. As we grow into our new space, additional hours and opportunities may become available.

Start Date: As soon as next week
Wage: $19–$23/hour, depending on experience and training
Position Type: Year-round, part-time/full-time potential

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and production of sourdough baked goods, including breads, bagels, baguettes, butter tarts, and other sourdough specialties
• Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency and quality
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace, including equipment and tools
• Assist with inventory management and monitoring ingredient and supply levels
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of orders
• Support with on-site sourdough baking classes and customer experiences

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a “made from scratch” bakery
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality products
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working in a digital environment (iPad or similar technology)
• Flexibility to work early mornings, afternoons, and weekends
• Food Handler’s Certificate considered an asset
