Mechanic/Technician

Back40 Powersports, located in Stirling ON, are looking to hire a FULL TIME – MECHANIC/TECHNICIAN for their growing business.

Back40 Powersports is looking for a full-time mechanic/technician for our ever-growing business. Located in Stirling, Back40 Powersports specializes in service, parts and accessories for ATV’s, UTV’s, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, small engine, lawn and garden equipment.

We have a full-service bay and are an authorized dealer for Toro Lawn and Garden, TGB, Hisun and Segway ATV’s/UTV’s.

Job Duties:

Successful Candidates will have/be:

• Powersports technician or previous experience working in a small engine, or powersports shop. Our primary focus is ATV/UTV, snowmobile and dirt bike repair.
• Ability to work on and have knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
• Physical ability to perform tasks within a powersports shop and ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Comfortable working in a very busy environment.
• Strong communication skills
• Extreme time management and prioritization skills
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude are essential
• Great customer service skills
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work and arrive on time
• Must be able to separate job duties and work time from your personal cell phone time (calls, texting, Facebook, etc.).

Job duties include:

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and repair as needed
• Complete work orders effectively and accurately
• Own and maintain hand tools essential for the job
• Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology’s, repair techniques and industry standards (training for products we sell is provided)
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance
• Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
• Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
• Strong communication skills
• Extreme time management and prioritization skills
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude are essential
• Great customer service skills

Additional Information:

• The position is full time Monday – Friday with an occasional Saturday.
• 40 plus hours per week are normal with overtime available during busy seasons.
• Wage will be discussed at time of interview and based on experience.
• Wage is on an hourly basis and benefits are available after three months.
