The Prince Edward Yacht Club is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team as a Seasonal Marina Attendant for the summer of 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student or young adult looking to gain valuable customer service, communication, and facility operations experience in a beautiful waterfront setting.
Position Details
- Position: Marina Attendant
- Location: Prince Edward Yacht Club, 30 Fairfield Street, Picton, ON
- Term: June 29, 2026 – September 6, 2026 (approximately)
- Hours: 35 hours per week, including weekends
- Wage: Competitive wage based on skills and experience
Responsibilities:
Marina & Dock Operations
- Provide dockside assistance to arriving and departing vessels.
- Assist boaters with docking and departing safely.
- Operate and communicate via VHF radio with visiting and member vessels.
- Schedule and manage slip assignments for visiting boaters.
- Process payments and maintain accurate dock service records.
- Provide information about club facilities, services, and local attractions.
- Respond to visitor and member inquiries in a professional and welcoming manner.
Facility Maintenance & Cleaning
- Maintain dock areas and marina facilities.
- Perform minor property maintenance tasks.
- Complete light-duty cleaning of:
- Club lobby
- Washrooms
- Showers
- Hall/event venue
- Assist with light landscaping and grounds maintenance, including:
- Lawn mowing
- Trimming
- Gardening
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the Club Manager and volunteer Directors responsible for Yacht Services, Buildings, and Grounds.
- Support the Grounds Facility Attendant as required.
- Maintain a positive, customer-focused atmosphere for members and guests.
Qualifications:
- Friendly and professional customer service skills.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable, responsible, and willing to learn.
- Experience with boating or marina operations is an asset but not required.
- Training will be provided, including VHF radio operation and use of facility
