Empire Cheese Co-Op, located in Campbellford, ON are looking to hire a Full Time, Cheese Maker Assistant for their Campbellford location.
Empire Cheese Co-Op is located just outside of Campbellford, it is the only cheese manufacturing plant operating in Northumberland county, it is also own by local daily farmers.
This is a very labour intensive position, with very early hours
The position details are as follows:
Start Time – 3:15am – Tuesday to Friday and 2:00am on Saturday’s – Sunday and Monday are days off
Daily end time will vary based on business and production needs
Working in hot/humid conditions, as well as cold storage
Ability to bend into waist high vats to lift or rake product repeatedly
Able to life up to 50lbs – from inside the vat and ability to lift 20lbs to 30lbs shoulder height for milling
Sanitation of equipment, also understanding mixing of chemicals for sanitation purposes
Understanding of biology in cheese making is an asset
Ability to adapt to busy conditions
Team Orientated
Comfortable working with computer programs when required
Perform light maintenance on equipment when needed
Working in a busy, physically demanding and fast paced environment
Desire to learn the cheese making process
This is a FULL TIME position
Please Note – Hours of working are early morning shifts
Rate of Pay is – $24/hr
Must have reliable vehicle and current license to get to and from work location
A safety boot allowance is provided as well as a uniform

**Please Note – Employer wishes to reiterate the hours of this position being 3:15am and 2:00am as being the start times, this is non-negotiable! As well as Tuesday to Saturday are the working days with Sunday’s and Monday’s off, these are requirements for this position.
