About the Position

We are seeking a motivated and reliable FRP Fabricator / Trainee to join our dynamic team at an established composite fan manufacturer in Bloomfield, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the laminating and assembly of FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) composite fan components, working with moulds, drawings, order specifications, and established procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in developing hands-on skills in composite manufacturing and fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

• Laminate and assemble FRP composite fan components according to drawings, specifications, and order requirements.
• Work with moulds and composite materials to produce quality components.
• Clean and prepare moulds for the laminating process as required.
• Catalyze resins as instructed and understand the proper promotion of resins.
• Laminate composite parts while minimizing air voids, waste, and production time while maintaining appropriate resin-to-fibre ratios.
• Demould completed parts as required.
• Assemble composite parts using bonding or welding techniques as required.
• Conduct initial inspections of completed work and identify unacceptable or defective work.
• Read and follow order data, time sheets, procedures, and production instructions.
• Record accurate production times as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation throughout the workday and before leaving at the end of each shift.
• Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate problems, concerns, and ideas for improving processes or methods.
• Work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding company and customer information.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous manufacturing, fabrication, composites, fiberglass, or hands-on mechanical experience is an asset but training will be provided to the right candidate.
• Ability to read and follow drawings, written instructions, and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to identify quality issues and unacceptable work.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Physically fit and able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to follow all company health and safety requirements.

Working Conditions

• Full-time hourly position based at our manufacturing plant in Bloomfield, ON.
• Monday–Thursday: 6:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
• Friday: 6:30–10:30 a.m.
• Some overtime may be required.
• Hands-on manufacturing environment requiring standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive physical tasks.
• Compliance with the company’s Health and Safety Plan is required.
