This Maternity Contract position will be for the period of June 29, 2026 to December 29, 2027 and will be paid at the rate of $19.60 – 26.00 per hour as per role held.

Job Duties:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing play-based, age-appropriate programs to foster child development.
• Support children’s social, emotional, language, cognitive and physical development.
• Follow YMCA policies, procedures, and CCEYA licensing regulations and practices as well as adhere to Ministry of Education regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children and youth is an asset.
• Knowledge of YMCA Playing To Learn training, YMCA A Place To Connect training or play-based curriculum experience and understanding would be an asset.
• WSIB Approved Standard First Aid/CPR Level “C”
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check required prior to first day of Police Checks are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
• Immunization Record for Ontario required vaccines.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal
• Strong leadership skills, positive attitude, professionalism and reliability.

Additional Information:

Working Conditions

• Full-time position averaging 40 hours per week.
• Indoor/outdoor environments, small groups within a school-based program.
• On-going training is conducted in person and on-line.
