By-Law Services Coordinator

Reporting to the Supervisor of Bylaw Services, the Bylaw Services Coordinator will provide administrative support to the By-law department and will receive and process all short-term accommodation and licensing applications on behalf of the department. This position is the first point of contact for the department and will respond to telephone calls, emails and in person inquiries, while providing exceptional customer service in accordance with County policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of related administrative work experience, preferably in a municipal environment, required.
  • Working knowledge of Municipal By-laws and Provincial Legislation, an asset.
  • Excellent administrative, communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement, de-escalate and show tact and diplomacy when carrying out duties.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, capable of working in a dynamic and challenging work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and databases, required. Experience with municipal accounting systems and iCompass an asset.
  • Ability to provide a satisfactory Criminal Background Check.

The current rate of pay for this position is $29.99 to $31.41 per hour, as per Band 7 of CUPE Local 2275’s Collective Agreement. Compensation also includes a competitive benefit package and membership in OMERS, a defined benefit pension plan.
