A Brief Overview

This position evaluates admission and scholarship applications for prospective students and makes admission decisions and recommendations. This position provides advice and guidance to applicants, schools, students, and families on admission qualifications, policies, program details, and financial assistance programs. This position identifies target markets for enrollment objectives and liaises with alumni network to encourage student recruitment. This position prepares statistical reports and interprets the results of recruiting trends, opportunities or potential issues.

The schedule for this position requires the incumbent to work variable hours on a regular basis, including evenings and weekends. In addition, travel is an inherent part of the position. This position is subject to the Averaging and Travel Time Credit provisions of the USW Local 2010 Collective Agreement.

The schedule for this position requires the incumbent to work frequent early mornings, evenings and weekends, according to program or area needs.

What you will do

  • Evaluates admission and scholarship applications for prospective students and makes admission decisions and recommendations.
  • Provides advice and guidance to applicants, schools, students, and families on admission qualifications, policies, program details, and financial assistance programs.
  • Identifies target markets for enrollment objectives and liaises with alumni network to encourage student recruitment.
  • Participates in information sessions and student interviews in a variety of locales.
  • Prepares targeted communications and presentations to support student recruitment and enrollment.
  • Prepares statistical reports and interprets the results of recruiting trends, opportunities or potential issues.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.

Required Education

  • Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree, or equivalent.

Required Experience

  • More than 2 years and up to and including 3 years of experience.
    • Working knowledge of language(s) other than English considered an asset.

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • G Driver’s Licence required.
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening required.
  • Valid Passport with no travel restrictions is required.

Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Participate in project team meetings and develop individual project plans.
  • Lead procedural or technological change within a unit.
  • Identify new problems and seek information and input to fully understand the cause of problems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work processes.
  • Draw logical conclusions and provides opinions and recommendations.
  • Research equity, diversity, accessibility and inclusion resources and best practices relevant to the job and unit operations in order to inform evidence-based planning.
  • Commitment to principles of equity, diversity, accessibility, inclusion, Indigenization and human rights for equity deserving groups.
