The YMCA NORTHUMBERLAND at CAMPBELLFORD are looking to hire a PART TIME – CHILDREN’S DANCE INSTRUCTOR for their location.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities:

• Implementing and facilitating the delivery of quality dance classes to children and teens
• Continuously developing children’s skills and coordinating an end of year showcase
• Using a team approach when planning and leading programs
• Supervising program participants and guiding them in physical, social and emotional development
• Being responsible for the general safety of the participants
• Ensuring excellent customer service is provided to all members and participants
• Ensuring the YMCA mission, purpose, image and core values are conveyed to members, staff and volunteers with every interaction
• Based out of Campbellford YMCA, located at Sunny Life Recreation and Wellness Centre
• Requires working flexible hours; including evenings and weekends based on position specifications and programs offered

Qualifications:

• Minimum 16 years of age
• Previous experience working in the field of children and youth programs and/or camp programs with children ages 2-16 years of age an asset
• Previous dance knowledge and experience with leading a dance program
• Knowledge of and experience delivering fitness, nutrition, recreational sports, arts and crafts, dance, drama and music programs an asset
• Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and relationship building skills required
• Training in High Five or YMCA Healthy Child Development an asset
• Valid Standard First Aid or CPR “C” Certification
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check required prior to firs day worked; Police Checks are reviewed on a case-by-case basis

Position Status – Part-time Hourly

Salary Range – $17.60 – $20.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
